Join the first Greek Dancing Group in Leicester.

We are passionate about Greek culture and we focus on developing our skills as dancers. We also immerse ourselves in the rich musical tradition and learn how to sing Greek folk songs.

Learning Style

The majority of Greek dancing takes place in circles. The most senior dancers tend to lead the dance, while the beginners follow and learn from the most experienced ones. The choreography is based on simple repetitive steps set at the beginning of every dance. They are easy to follow and when they are not the results are always hilarious! The various dances come from areas across all regions of Greece, from the most distant islands to the highest of mountains. We welcome adults, teens, and children alike of all abilities. Prior knowledge of Greek dancing is not essential.

Performers

We are currently looking for performers who wish to participate in our advanced group. We are planning to launch an amateur dancing troupe to advance the Greek culture in the UK and beyond through the means of dance. Prior knowledge of Greek dancing is essential.

The dancing group meets once a month, on a Saturday for a two-hour session.
